Influences 1.0

We’re pleased to announce our newest SHAOLIN JAZZ design: “Influences.”  “Influences” is a series that takes stylistic cues from pop art and graffiti and fuses them with SHAOLIN JAZZ’s more specific cultural influences of hip-hop, jazz, and martial arts.  Our goal with each design, starting with “Influences 1.0,” is to tell a story that pays homage to our creative make-up, provide, if you look closely, a visual history lesson, and give insight into SHAOLIN JAZZ’s cultural DNA.  To customize and order click here.

Marked for Death – Recap

Our return to Songbyrd after our month long CAN I KICK IT? series at Freedom Plaza, had some minor hurdles (arrive early for seating), but was a good time.  We’re now downstairs, for the next few months, and Songbyrd’s performance space is a great fit allowing for people to chill out and enjoy the movie.

Thanks to everyone who attended, Sonbyrd for hosting, props to Efua’s Baby (pop-up shop), and salute to everyone who helped spread the word.

And if you missed this month be sure to check us out next month Aug. 22nd for Shaolin vs Ninja.

We’re pretty excited about this month’s screening, as we’ll be conducting CAN I KICK IT? downstairs in Songbyrd’s music house, so please take note.

At this month’s event we’re happy to announce that the pop-up shop (also located downstairs) will feature Efua’s baby – a Washington, DC woman owned business offering high quality handmade products including 100% all natual soy & coconut oil candles, body butters and other products.
