The event, on Friday November 4th, will kick off with an Instant Vintage pop-up record fair and auction featuring some of the area’s finest vendors of Hip Hop, Soul, Funk, Jazz and Rock music on wax.  Throughout that portion of the evening DJs from the DC Vinyl Headz collective will be spinning music from the each vendor that will be available for sale.

The second portion of the evening will be a Wu Tang Clan-themed producer showcase featuring some of the finest beatsmiths in the DC area.  The evening’s festivities will be hosted by DJ 2-Tone Jones.

“Blow One for Clarence” is the newest project in our SHAOLIN JAZZ Tribute Series and with this release we’re paying tribute to Clarence Reid aka “Blowfly.”  Reid, an accomplished musician, producer, and writer created material for and was sampled by notable acts from KC and the Sunshine Band to DMX, and his uninhibited alter ego “Blowfly” served as an influencer to a range of famed hip-hop artists, such as Snoop Dogg and Ol’ Dirty Bastard.  Check out “Blow One for Clarence” by clicking here.
