Our two days of programming at West Virginia State University (an HBCU and our first college/university engagement of 2017) turned out to be one of our best experiences at a college or university, to date. The town has crazy hidden cultural gems and the school has this chill familial vibe.

On Thursday, Nov. 3rd SHAOLIN JAZZ will be taking part in the Creative Economy Fair, presented by Words, Beats, and Life and The Kennedy Center, along with several other creative groups, businesses, and collectives in search of talented individuals who are looking for employment and internship opportunities in the arts and beyond. The event will take place from 10:30am-1:30pm at the Kennedy Center, and will be open to the public. For more information click here.

Been holding onto this nugget for minute, but this is HUGE for us – check it out: DJ 2-Tone Jones of the SHAOLIN JAZZ Project was recently selected to participate in the first ever Next Level program initiated by the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill Department of Music and the US State Department. Along with 3 other artists, 2-Tone is currently in India for the next 3 weeks engaging youth and local artists with Hip Hop as a means to bring about conflict resolution.

2014 has been our busiest year yet and with having to deal with what seems like a never-ending winter we, like so many, certainly trooped through “old man winter” and his brothers.
