The Blackout Listening Party

Swung through the DC listening party for Red and Meth’s “Blackout 2″ album. From what I heard, the music is cool and the listening party was definitely all-hip hop!
It all went down in the outside back of a recording studio/record store on Georgia Ave. NW, near HU – mini tent with complimentary beverages courtesy of Ciroc and Nuvo, some good trees being blown in the background, complimentary jerk chicken and rice peas was served, and to top it off – Redman came through!
So if you’ve followed my blog at all or checked out past posts, Aniekan (AM Radio) had hit Red off with a piece he’d done of him a while back. Upon Redman’s trip, Aniekan had another piece for him. From what he told me, he and Reggie Noble have been building on some potential creative projects so be on the lookout!
Big shouts to Mike from Def Jam for the invite and Karim from Diageo (we’ve got some good things about to jump-off!) for the complimentary drinks.
AM Radio/Global Politics Art Show – Recap

All in all the show was cool. It was my first trip to the Art Whino space and I’ve got to say that Shane and his crew have done a great job. High ceilings, very clean and they support a variety of “non-traditional” art and artists. AM Radio showed thorough. Peep the first pic – its a mural a couple of the guys did.
My camera is dumb old and I’m bad about recording artists names whenever I visit shows so that’s why some of the pics aren’t the greatest, none are labeled and I don’t have any shots of the space.
If you’ve got any questions give Shane and the crew at Art Whino a shout.
